Grateful Desk
Grateful Desk
Grateful Desk bridges the gap between Progressive design and traditional craftsmanship by making tables and desks built to last for generations. We hope each piece is the anchor for many celebrations and great conversations.
Responsibly Forested, Locally Milled
Carbon Smart Wood
Great furniture begins with stewardship. Every table and desk is made from responsibly forested regional hardwoods and milled locally. By using timber from close to home, we minimize our environmental footprint while preserving the character and beauty of the forests where we live.
We are very happy to partner with Cambium to offer Carbon Smart Wood™. Cambium's process salvage fallen urban trees by recovering logs that would otherwise be burned or sent to landfills. The recovered wood is milled into lumber and preserves our natural forests.”
Independent Artists
Integrated Sculpture
We like artists way more than machines. Grateful Desk works with small independent craftsmen who make each table or desk. Bench-made furniture is an art form fundamental to our history. Choosing Grateful Desk means directly supporting independent artists and sustaining the heritage of traditional woodworking.
We pair our tabletops with sculptural steel legs and bases crafted by Flowyline Design. Each base is hand-shaped by their skilled artisans, who hand-weld and polish every seam. Engineered to safely support heavy natural wood, these the bases really resonate with the tabletops.
Stunning & Durable Finishes
Our Philosophy
We are proud to partner with SECONN fabrication to offer state of the art powder coat finishes for the metal bases which meet all AAMA specifications. Available in 130 colors for both interior and exterior projects.
We use Rubio Monocoat, a plant-based, hard-wax that bonds with the wood’s fibers, It enhances the grain and warmth of the wood with a refined, low-luster matte look. Non-toxic, zero-VOC, Water- and heat-resistant. Available in 40 colors for interior and exterior projects.
Our designs are rooted in the Five Elements philosophy of Tai Chi the element are joined in a balanced, functional centerpiece. Water nourishes the old-growth hardwood yielding the living warmth of Wood; fierce Fire transforms and welds raw iron into the sculptural precision of Metal; these are integrated in a way that connects with Earth.
We are deeply thankful for every client who welcomes our work into their home. Your support allows independent artists to practice the craft they love, fosters responsible forestry, and brings purposeful design to life.
